On January 12, we were confronted with another sad headline of an unexpected event: an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Haiti just south of the capital of Port-au-Prince. The Red Cross estimates that up to 3 million people have been affected, and much of the capital has been destroyed by the quake and its aftershocks. In the past few days and weeks, people have been confronted with other unexpected news such as the Christmas Day bomb scare and the recent attacks in Angola that threatened to disrupt the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.

How can our prayers reach out and respond to sudden events like these? Listen to this short audio interview with Christian Science practitioner Tony Lobl, from London, England to find ways to bring a healing perspective to our global community.
