Spirituality Talk Posting Criteria
The Spirituality Talk message boards are for everyone to share ideas on practical spirituality. Spirituality Talk is intended to be supportive in respecting every visitor and his or her individual spiritual journey. Below is an explanation of what criteria are considered before a response is posted on the site.
All posts should:
- Support the spirit of spirituality.com, adding value to the discussion by representing a spiritual perspective that includes a connection to God.
- Respect the spiritual journey of others. Submissions criticizing a belief system or denomination, or recruiting for a particular denomination or view, will not be accepted.
- Be original. Put simply, we want to know what you think. It is okay to quote from someone else, but we want to know what you think in your own words. Also, responses that are redundant or that mirror a previous post without adding additional value will be omitted.
- Be clear. Do not use jargon or inaccessible terms that assume other readers know your religious or belief system background and terminology. When in doubt, elaborate on or explain what a certain phrase, action or idea means to you.
- Stay on topic. Respond directly to the question rather than posting on an unrelated topic.
- Don't try to spark a debate. Responses should build off an idea instead of tearing it down.
Note: spirituality.kids is a discussion area for children aged 13 and under. Teenagers and young adults are welcome to post in the Spirituality 4U&Me forum. Posts in these sections are moderated to protect the privacy of the participants. Messages submitted to these forums by adult site visitors will not be posted, unless within the specially designated folders.
